Steve Brehm served as vice-president of the Brattleboro Outing Club and steward of its crosscountry ski programs for over a decade. He was a strong supporter of outdoor "zest" with family and friends. And he usually wore a loud pinkand-lime ski hat.

THE TREK:

Three-person teams will follow a scenic route consisting of three legs:

a 4-kilometer ski through open fields
a 3-kilometer snowshoe through wooded ravines
a “mitten-pin” pursuit on forest trails

Trek the route as an Altogether Team, Relay Team, or Solo Adventurer. Teams are encouraged to include a child under 13 years of age. The event will be adapted to the prevailing weather conditions: For example, the skiing leg could be changed to a trek on skates, if the ice is great.

A fun family experience:
The last leg of the event will bring participants together for a mitten-pin search. Teams can choose short or long treks to retrieve pins and bring them back to the Outing Club hut.

THE CELEBRATION:

Savor zesty food & drink, music and the warmth of coming together around the roaring bonfire in WinterZest. Special awards and mementos for everyone.
