Paddling Trip Descriptions

Spring Consignment Sale

WHAT TO BRING – pick and choose from this list; add whatever else you need:

Canoe or kayak, paddles, life jackets, sponge/bailer, bow line, safety whistle

Drinking water; plenty (minimum of 1 liter/person/hour on hot days)

Hot drinks; good idea for sunrise paddle and poor/cold weather
Sun, lip & bug "stuff"; (SPF 30+ and/or long sleeved shirt and long pants)
Snacks; (also lunch for all-day trips)
Extra clothes; windbreaker, windpants, warm hat, gloves, etc.
Foul weather gear; as needed (NOT a poncho)
 Bathing suit and towel; optional
Water shoes, old sneakers or ??  always
Camera, binoculars, etc. in some sort of waterproof bag
Paddling/biking gloves; optional
Sunglasses and safety straps; always
Hat w/long, wide bill and neck strap; always
Basic 1st aid items; moleskin, Band-Aids, antiseptic, etc.
Waterproof bag to hold all of the above
Extra warm/dry clothes to be left in the car
Whatever you think you need to make a picnic more fun; blanket, groundcloth, folding chair, sketch pad, paints, waterproof musical instrument, book, etc.

Warm summer rain will not stop these trips; high winds and cold rain may. If in doubt, call Larry; also to car/boat pool.
